Restoration & Repair

Having studied at West Dean College, I cannot help be influenced by considered conservation approach, in my making & restoration work.

In practice this means I tend toward:
- Minimal intrusive work (original material removal)
- Minimal use of irreversible materials
- Consider long term degradation
Although, also important to me is waste reduction, functional repaired pieces & spreading the good word of repair. These often contradict the conservation side of my brain… I usually offer a couple of treatment options to clients.
